I have memory foam mattresses and latex pillows that are not supposed to attract the bugs. I don't know if these claims really work. However, I feel I am more aggressive in prevention than many lodging chains and accommodations. Just another reason guests should consider renting from a vacation home owner --- personalized attention to details --- such as elimination of bed bugs. They can easily spread, and many home treatments are ineffective and won't kill all the bugs.
