When I was writing my post on updating the cottage guide I spent some time searching the web for a suitable image to illustrate the topic. I came across this one and liked it a lot because it really conveyed how much can be done to create an information source for rental guests. But then I looked further and was so impressed with the way the owners of Woodward Crossings have developed their photo sets on Flickr, I thought it deserved a post of its own.
As vacation rental owners we aim to show in pictorial form, as much of the flavour of our properties as we can, but are often held back by the limitations of a listing site, or web page. The way Marlin and Karen have done this is very effective in separating out the different activities and features of their property in photo sets on Flickr. Take a look and let me know what you think, but I am already planning my photo sets that I can link to from my new Osprey Cottage blog.
Well done Woodward Crossings – I’ll be including this in my next newsletter with some instructions on how to create a Flickr photo set.

Flickr is a great place to go for inspiration for your web designs. There are some great web applications built on top of flickr too – try out the flickr related tag browser at http://www.airtightinteractive.com/projects/related_tag_browser/app/

One thing I am amazed is how well photos rank on Flickr if ya upload them right…
Don’t forget to put your domain name as a watermark on the photo in case people want to visit your site to check you out!
I love that header photo on your blog on ospreycottage.com. Did you make that? Hook me up!
